Ultimate FAQ Guide to Lotus Pod
What are lotus pods used for?
Dried lotus pods are widely used in home decor, floral arrangements, wedding centerpieces, bouquets, wreaths, and DIY crafts. They pair naturally with pampas grass, dried flowers, and branches for a rustic, boho, or minimalist style. They also serve as photo props, festival decorations, and interior design accents due to their unique natural texture and long-lasting shape.
Can you eat the lotus pod?
You cannot eat the dried decorative lotus pods we sell, as they are processed only for ornamental use. Fresh green lotus pods are edible, but their seeds (lotus nuts) are the main edible part, not the pod shell itself. Our dried lotus pods are not treated for food consumption and should only be used for decoration.
What does a lotus pod taste like?
Only fresh lotus seeds inside young green pods are edible. They taste crisp, sweet, and slightly milky, with a tender, juicy texture similar to fresh nuts. The hard, woody shell of the lotus pod itself is bitter, fibrous, and inedible. Dried decorative lotus pods have no edible or pleasant taste at all.
Are your dried lotus pods real or artificial?
Our dried lotus pods are 100% natural real lotus seed pods, harvested at full maturity and naturally air-dried. No plastic, no fake materials, no chemicals. Slight differences in size, shape and color are normal characteristics of natural products.
What sizes do dried lotus pods come in?
We offer three main sizes: small (3–5cm), medium (5–7cm), and large (7–9cm) in pod diameter. Most come with a 30–45cm natural stem. Custom mixed-size packs are also available for floral design and event decoration needs.
How long do dried lotus pods last?
With proper storage, dried lotus pods can maintain their shape and color for 1–3 years. Keep them in a cool, dry, ventilated area away from direct sunlight, heavy moisture and dust to avoid deformation or mold.
Can I use dried lotus pods for wedding & home decor?
Yes, they are widely used in bouquets, wreaths, centerpieces, rustic weddings, farmhouse decor and DIY crafts. They pair well with dried flowers, pampas grass and branches, creating a natural, vintage and artistic atmosphere.
Do you accept wholesale orders and custom packaging?
We support wholesale bulk orders with competitive pricing. Customization includes labeling, inner packaging, outer cartons and mixed product sets. MOQ, lead time and shipping terms can be negotiated based on your order quantity and requirements.
Will dried lotus pods shed or break easily?
They are firm and durable when handled gently. We use shockproof packaging to reduce breakage, but a small attrition rate (under 3%) is unavoidable for natural dry products.
Can you ship dried lotus pods internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide by sea, air or express courier. The goods are properly dried and packaged to pass most customs inspections. We provide commercial invoices, packing lists and other documents for smooth customs clearance.
What is the difference between natural and dyed lotus pods?
Natural lotus pods show original brown and tan tones. Dyed ones come in white, gold, black and other colors for themed decor. Dyed products may have slight color fading; natural ones are more eco-friendly and long-lasting.
